About me
As Executive Director of the Community Health Trust of Pajaro Valley, DeAndre’ James takes an active role as a leader and activist in the community. He works with both the board and staff to implement the strategic plan and explores new opportunities. His personal mission is to ensure an opportunity for every individual to attain the highest level of health and wellness regardless of barriers. DeAndre started his healthcare career in 1996 in the US Navy as a hospital corpsman (the healthcare for the Navy & Marines with EMT certification). An honorable discharge, two degrees and 20+ years later, DeAndre has a proven track record of leadership and accomplishments, with roles that include Chief Operating Officer at San Mateo Medical Center and the Executive Director of Dignity Health Medical Group. His also serves on the board of United Way of Santa Cruz County, Big Brothers Big Sister, SCHIO (Serving Communities Health Information Organization), and DataShare Santa Cruz County. His community services and 20+ years of experience working in healthcare help the Community Health Trust navigate the complex sector of community health and wellness.
